I have been researching my family tree for around 17 years and I still can’t get beyond my great-grandfather on the male side of the tree. I have considered undertaking DNA testing for a while but expensive tests and a limited database deterred me until now. Ancestry DNA recently came out with a £49 autosomal test, plus £20 postage, so I’ve bought it for my Christmas present. I dribbled in a tube and returned my package today. It was painless and dribbling gets easier when you are older! The results are promised in 6-8 weeks so I will let you know how I get on.
