The Armistice Commemoration Event closes today

The display of life stories of the men who fell from the parish will continue for a while yet in the church but the exhibition in the village hall and, importantly, the wire soldiers will no longer be here from tonight.

It is important to understand the significance of the soldiers. They represent a man each and were built to display just for the armistice event. They are not sculptures that can survive indefinitely outside and we do not feel it is right to turn them into a tourist attraction. That would be wrong on many counts. We are delighted so many people came to see them and showed due reverence but today is the last day. Remember!
