The family of David Porter have reached out to Slimbridge Local History Society for help. Unfortunately when the war memorial was renovated as part of the millennium celebrations his name was accidentally changed from “Walter David Porter” to “William D Porter”. We have a copy of the Heritage Environment Record for Slimbridge. This is maintained by Gloucestershire Archaeology Service and they have provided an extract as at November 2022
QR Codes are now in widespread use. By scanning the code with a mobile phone camera you can quickly open a relevant Website. Slimbridge Local History Society are starting a project to use QR codes to highlight topics of historical interest.
